Why Support Us?
Our regular supporters are very important to us, so please choose to become a Friend. We value your encouragement and the help provided by volunteers is essential to our work. Did you know that all our trustees and project managers are volunteers too? That ensures maximum value for donations. Our careful and flexible management of projects gives a great chance of success for the beekeepers and their families. When Bees Abroad complete a project we aim to leave behind a sustainable small business for the community. But it’s much more then that: income from beesuit making and transport of honey to market helps more families. Then there are carpenters making hives, and perhaps local smokers as income is made from honey and wax and the group grows in experience.
What might you do?
Perhaps you can help us by talking to visitors about our work at shows and events? These are often great fun and you will be able to take some time to enjoy what’s on offer too.
Fundraising for Bees Abroad is sometimes as headline-hitting as a long distance bike ride or a marathon to support beekeeping projects in Africa. But, equally as valuable, is a coffee morning or other more peaceful pursuit!
Some donations cost nothing: for example through Give as you Live. It all adds up and don’t forget, almost every pound goes straight into projects.
As a Friend
For an annual donation of just £20 you will receive a small welcome gift. You will be one of the first to receive our newsletters and a copy of our annual report. This keeps you in touch with the successes – and sometimes the challenges – met by our in-country trainers, project managers and new beekeepers in many countries across Africa and elsewhere. Further information can be found at our Blog and on our Facebook page – why not join us there? Every personal contact who Likes us makes us stronger as an organisation – relieving poverty through beekeeping, and it works!
