Twin your hive with a working Bees Abroad hive in Africa

The Joy of Hive Twinning

Joining our hive twinning program is a great way to support the beekeepers and honeybees of Africa while becoming part of a community that shares your love for bees, nature, and human growth.

For just £60 per hive/annum, you can twin your hive with one from our projects for a year. Even better, join with friends, others in your association apiary or community allotment group and twin with more hives!

By participating in our global community of beekeepers, you’ll be able to connect with others who share your passion and follow their journey through beekeeping. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to make a positive impact and become part of a supportive network of like-minded individuals.

Why Twin your Hive?

Hive twinning is a living demonstration of your commitment to supporting rural communities through beekeeping, to benefit livelihoods, food security, the environment, conservation and nature across Africa.

Twinning a beehive has many positive benefits:

  • You will be helping rural beekeepers in disadvantaged situations to provide themselves with a sustainable income through honey and beeswax sales.
  • Your donation of £60 will go towards providing a beekeeper with the training and equipment and ongoing support in sustainable beekeeping practices.
  • You can share about your Twinned Hive with a certificate displayed in your garden or apiary and also with Hive Twin stickers to display on your honey and other Hive products.
  • You can learn about and share the progress of the beekeeping project you are supporting by scanning the QR code on your certificate for information and updates

''We are truly delighted to have partnered with Bee’s Abroad; a fabulous grassroots organisation with a global ambition to create beekeepers for life. Stemmed from our mutual passion for these wonderful creatures, we have not only twinned our rooftop beehives with a beehive on Kome Island in Tanzania, we have also launched our ‘Bee Our Guest’ package together, which includes a donation to support this wonderful charity.''
- Jo Hemesley of Royal Lancaster London
