There are a number of volunteer roles available at Bees Abroad and they are set out below.

Partnership Managers

Work with our in- country project delivery partners. Develop their capabilities and ensure the integrity and success of our projects. Make occasional visits. You will be competent beekeeper.

On-line Retail Development

Develop the revenue stream from our on-line shop. Source products, find partners, promote sales. Improve website presentation. Work alongside our mobile shop team.

Events Organiser

Organise our presence at conferences, shows and events where we recruit supporters, increase awareness of Bees Abroad and gather donations.

Charity Governance

Support the trustees in ensuring compliance with regulations. Maintain our policies and communicate them to members. You will bring us your experience.

Newsletter Editor

If you enjoy writing, we would love to work with you to write and produce our bi-monthly newsletter. Gather our news and photos, design our newsletter using Mailchimp.  Time required one day per month.

Partners & Projects Trustee

Each of our trustees has a focus area. Get in touch If you have managed people in a projects environment, want to give back and make a difference by changing lives in the poorest rural communities worldwide. Role description

If you belong to a registered local community group or non-governmental organisation and would like to learn beekeeping skills do get in touch.

We need to learn more about your proposed project, so please complete the on-line form giving as much detail as possible and return it to: We aim to respond within 30 days.

Why not invite a speaker to a regular meeting or larger event? We can also deliver talks via Zoom. Many of our project managers, trustees and other volunteers are available to present a talk at your beekeeping association. We also speak at WI, Rotary Club, Soroptomist, college and senior school events and meetings. Some are also experienced presenters at larger county or national events and conferences.

As a guideline, we don’t charge a fee, but most organisations give a donation of around £60 plus they often organise a raffle or allow us to sell gift cards and cards or take a collection. Expenses to cover the cost of travel would be appreciated too.
