Supporter Care Manager (position filled)

We are Bees Abroad, working to enable communities to empower themselves, through sustainable beekeeping. Together with local beekeeper trainers and organisations we educate, guide, and mentor communities in local best practices in Beekeeping, business creation, and protecting the environment.

Whilst we are a small charity, we drive a lot of impact and have great ambition. We are looking for a supporter care and donor stewardship manager to help us elevate and continue our efforts. This individual will be working closely with our CEO, key supporter ambassador and fundraising campaigns manager and will be responsible for nurturing long lasting relationships with new and existing supporters (donors, volunteers, individual fundraisers, etc).

You should be well organised, proactive, and have the ability to inspire those around you.

Supporter Care Manager Responsibilities: 

  • Communicating with donors, volunteers and partners in a timely manner
  • Taking ownership and managing maintenance of supporter database (Hubspot)
  • Planning, designing and managing the organisation’s email newsletters (MailChimp)
  • Planning and implementing communication strategy (email newsletters only) for the best, ‘supporter experience’, including using automations where possible
  • Building the foundations of the Hive Twinning community through specialised communication and project updates, as well as with exclusive events
  • Organising yearly, in-person event for supporter appreciation
  • Collaborating with fundraising campaigns manager on social media posts, videos, events and PR.
  • Establishing good relationships with staff, members of the public, and the media.

Supporter Care Manager Requirements: 

  • Previous experience in communication, stakeholder relationships and community development an advantage.
  • Proficient using Hubspot (or similar CRM system), MailChimp and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Drive and enthusiasm to develop together with our team
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and phone communication skills.
  • We welcome creative and self-driven individuals who can take on the lead on building a community for our supporters

Trustee Opening

Our organisation is growing and so is our impact!

Watch this space as we will be looking for a new Trustee to join our Board of Trustees to help us drive our Project Impact strategy

Events and Trade Shows

Help us be present where you are. Join our team at trade shows and events throughout the year, and help us spread awareness about our work. As an event volunteer, you can help us welcome guests at the stand, sell some of our products or even bring your own crafted goods to sell as support to us. Depending on the event, there might even be opportunities for photographers, videographers, workshop organisers, and so much more.

These are the 2023 events we are attending:

  • 19-20 August 2023 – Bee Fayre (400th Anniversary of ‘The Female Monarchy’ by Charles Butler), Wootton-St-Lawrence
  • 26-28 October 2023 – National Honey Show (Centenary Celebration), Sandown, Esher
  • 04 November 2023 – Essex BKA Conference, Southend

Office 365 Administrator

We are looking for a knowledgable volunteer who can help us keep on top of everything Microsoft Office 365. This may include:

  • Setting up new email addresses and deleting accounts when team members complete their tenure,
  • Guiding members to use Microsoft Teams
  • Keep an eye on updates coming through from Microsoft. 
This role would suit anyone who is IT literate, with similar skills to those used for maintaining the back-end of a website (WordPress, Joomla, etc).

Design a Fun Sticker Pack

Calling all creative designers!

We have a unique opportunity for one or two volunteers who want a new, fun project to add to their portfolio. We are looking for someone who will help us create two fun sticker packs: one for adults and one for kids. The Bees Abroad sticker pack designs should be playful while showing the impact of sustainable beekeeping on both people and the environment.

Hive Twinning Digital Assets

We would love to have a volunteer that can help us create digital, promotional materials for our newest programme, Hive Twinning.

Hive Twinning allows our supporters to ‘twin’ their own / their organisation’s apiary with Bees Abroad’s, through regular donations. We are looking for a volunteer who can create digital materials (for websites, social media, etc) in alignment with our branding guidelines that supporters can use to showcase their participation in the programme.
